Job Description

Plowshares Coffee seeks an assistant manager to complete our small team. Because the shop is small and a lot depends on finding the right person, we’re looking for someone who is super familiar with the industry and wants more responsibility than a regular barista.  

Must have good vibes, five years’ barista experience (no management experience necessary), and answer a few of the following:

1.) What evidence did Matt Perger cite when he disparaged the Robur, and is it convincing?

2.) What tradeoff must roasters consider for every coffee?

3.) Why has the industry moved from 14g to 21g to 18g dose standards over the past 15 years?

4.) In what sense is extraction theoretical?

5.) What’s the difference between management and leadership?

We’d like to begin training for this position no later than May 01, so please send your answers and resume as soon as possible. Some flexibility available for the right person if you are currently working at another bar.
