Gumption is Industry City’s prime specialty coffee retail destination. A new addition to not only the New York but the U.S market, we pride ourselves on constantly striving to provide better coffee and better service. Key Responsibilities:

The Office Administrator is responsible for the daily operations of Gumption’s office and HQ, as well as being the first contact point for new customers to the business. This position oversees the day-to-day activities, including wholesale support, inventory management, general reception and mailing duties.

  • Answering wholesale inquiries
  • Coordinate couriers
  • Direct calls to the appropriate departments
  • Occasionally cover register and closing duties in the café
  • Maintain inventory and office supplies?
  • Provide professional administrative support to Gumption President

Competencies:

  • Customer service/retail experience required
  • Experience in hospitality preferable
  • On the spot problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • General computer software skills (word processing, spread sheets, email)
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to multi task and set priorities

Behaviors:

The Office Administrator at Gumption will be someone who is logistically minded. You will be directing the flow of calls, enquiries and operations for the back of house team, as well as being the first person communicating with potential customers. It is important that the Administrator be comfortable working independently, as well as communicating effectively and efficiently with the rest of the team. As you will be required to cover breaks, potentially shifts, in the café it is important you exhibit a high level of professionalism and a willingness to be a part of a team.
