Maglia Rosa, an Italian cafe and bespoke bike shop concept in Carroll Gardens has been up and running successfully for almost 3 years. Our intimate shop and cafe has become a home base for the local cycling community and the surrounding neighborhood, offering La Colombe coffee drinks, Italian paninis, and beer and wine. We’re excited to be opening a second location in Sunset Park’s Industry City this summer. We’re looking for a part-time barista for our Carroll Gardens location.

Job Description:

We’re looking for a chill and personable but professional and experienced barista for our Carroll Gardens cafe. Our vibe is a chill one with most of our customers being neighborhood regulars, families, and of course cyclists. We also serve beer and wine and re trying to grow that branch of the business. Ideally, you’re excited to get to know our regulars, you’re passionate about what it means to provide friendly service, and you know how to make a mean latte.

We’re looking for someone to work part time hours on Monday and Tuesday, amounting to 18-20 hours. There is some limited room for flexibility in hours and days for the right fit.

Requirements:
1. Must have NY Food Handler’s license.
2. Must have previous barista experience
3. Must be professional: that means showing up to work ON TIME, valuing our customers and treating them with respect, dressing appropriately, etc.
4. Willingness to learn about our retail bike products (basic knowledge, nothing crazy).

Responsibilities:
1. Make coffee drinks on a super cool vintage Italian espresso machine.
2. Make paninis
3. Maintain the food prep station such as restocking food items, and breaking down bread, slicing meat, etc.
4. Clean, clean, clean! Maintaining a clean workspace at all times.
5. Cash handling and other POS transactions.
