Summary

Everyone in the Sweetleaf Coffee Roasting team shares a commitment to quality and consistency. Bonus points if you can introduce us to our new favorite band. We’re looking for a Production Assistant who can keep up with those standards while contributing to big good vibes.

You’ll be joining a motley crew of motivated and excited people to assist with freshly packaging roasted coffee to fulfill wholesale and retail orders. Efficiency and attention to detail are your most important assets.

Assisting roasters with cleaning roasting equipment, monitoring warehouse inventory, keeping the place neat and tidy and occasionally assisting with deliveries are a few of the additional tasks you’ll be charged with.

There’s a good chance you’ll be assisting us make the move to our big new shiny roasting facility nearby which will be a fun bonding experience for the team. If you’re looking to grow with us, now is a great time to climb aboard.

Job Requirements

• Use both manual and mechanized processes to weigh, grind, bag and seal bagged coffee.
• Carefully package online retail orders for shipment in a timely manner.
• Fulfill, pick and prepare wholesale orders for delivery with extreme accuracy.
• Assist roasters with cleaning of equipment.
• Keep warehouse supplies organized and stocked.
• Complete work efficiently and safely, maintain a clean and tidy work space.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and consistency.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Ability to comfortably lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
• Ability to complete tasks unsupervised.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in communication with the roasting team.

Not necessary but helpful

• Familiarity with e-commerce fulfillment software
• Familiarity with spreadsheets
• A valid driver’s license
• Interest in learning coffee equipment repair and maintenance

Physical Demands

• Carry weight, lift – frequently moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Weight greater than 50 pounds can be mitigated with a lifting partner or device.
• Stooping—bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
• Repetitive motion using the hands, wrists and forearms—fold bags, carry trays of coffee, operate light machinery.
• Standing in place for several hours at a table to operate machinery, scoop coffee and fold bags.
