Job Title: GRIND Production Roaster
Location: Brooklyn, New York, USA
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Mondays – Fridays, 45 hours per week
Our aim is to get the whole world drinking delicious speciality coffee, sourced from environmentally and ethically sustainable producers, for a better than fair price.
The Grind roastery is a speciality roastery originally set up to serve Grind’s sites around central London. After 4 years we’re now managing a very fast-growing online retail business as well as supplying coffee to Soho House group worldwide and lots of other wholesale partners in the UK.
It’s now time for us to set up a site in the USA to support the roasting, packing and dispatching of our products. We’re looking for someone invested in learning more about coffee, more specifically – roasting our coffee at Pulley Collective in Brooklyn, New York. You will be in charge of keeping track of stock, packing and dispatching orders to Soho House or Seko (our online retail fulfilment centre which is based in New Jersey).
We’re looking for an enthusiastic new team member to help with production and maintenance of the roastery.
The ideal candidate will need to:
Be extremely passionate about speciality coffee
Possess an intermediate level of coffee knowledge
Have a basic understanding of coffee roasting
Be Highly organised and have strong prioritisation skills
Enjoy working independently in addition to connecting with the wider team abroad
Be Energetic and very tenacious
Be someone with a can-do attitude and good problem solving skills
Be physically fit and strong
Responsibilities:
Working with our international production team to fulfil wholesale and retail orders to Soho House and Seko (based in New Jersey).
Maintaining good working order of packing and roasting equipment
Maintaining cleanliness of the roastery
This is a great opportunity for someone keen to get into the world of coffee roasteries.
Though the job will be very production-based there will be lots of opportunities to learn about how we source and roast.
