Full-Time Production Roaster

Job Description

City of Saints Coffee Roasters is now seeking an individual to join our Production and QC Team as Production Roaster. At CoS, we take tremendous pride in roasting a very wide range of coffees and demand that our Roaster demonstrate an ability to control quality for a vast spectrum of desired flavor profiles. Our tag line is “drink what you like,” and our Roaster’s job is to ensure that we bring this goal to fruition not only for our own cafes, but for diverse partners and collaborators as well.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of a safe, clean, and organized production environment
  • Passion + curiosity for unlocking everything that coffee can do – an active desire to push one’s palate and chops
  • Production roasting on 70kg Loring
  • Sample roasting on Ikawa Pro Sample Roaster
  • Regular leadership of QC and Sample Cuppings
  • Maintenance of correct green coffee inventory as well as routine releasing of coffee from warehouses to roastery

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum two years production roasting, strong preference given to individuals with experience on a Loring
  • Familiarity with Cropster
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, foremost Sheets/Excel
  • Some familiarity with sample roasting
  • Fork-lift operation, or willingness to learn upon joining

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for upwards of six hours/day
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to ~75# regularly and up to ~152# (with assistance) occasionally
  • Ability to climb a ladder

Compensation:

  • Starting salary will vary depending upon experience
