Job Description

Joe Coffee is looking to hire a Production Roaster to join our passionate and skilled roasting team. We are looking for a person who is willing and able to do the hard work of filling orders as needed, as well as a person with the interest and passion required to develop expertise and contribute to roast profile development, inventory management, and quality control.

Responsibilities:
• Proper, safe operation of production roasting machines and sample roasters
• Maintain a tidy, organized work area during and after your shift
• Monitor green coffee inventory to assist with proper inventory management
• Participate in quality control evaluation and profile development
• Use constructive feedback from QC evaluations to improve profiles
• Participate in group learning exercises
• Work with the production crew to expedite fulfillment of orders
• Develop an understanding for profile roasting
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Have a passion and enthusiasm for coffee
• Willingness to learn from mistakes to grow and enhance skills
• Ability to listen, learn, and take direction
• Must be available for Monday and Thursday, AM and PM shifts
• Flexible scheduling is preferred and should be available to work weekends
• Excellent, positive communication skills and teamwork required
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position

Working conditions:
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Working in a non-climate controlled warehouse setting
• Unassisted heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
• Repetition of duties

Compensation:
• Part Time (up to 16hrs/week)

Apprentice Roaster – $18/hr to start with scheduled pay increases
