HAVEN’S KITCHEN is a recreational cooking school, café and event space with the mission to inspire, teach, and support confident, creative, conscious cooking and eating. Located in a carriage house two blocks from Manhattan’s Union Square, our business is dedicated to the preparation and enjoyment of sustainable, seasonal food. Haven’s Kitchen and all of our various businesses use six filters to evaluate everything we do: from the coffee we serve in the café, to our corporate partnerships, to the way we give feedback to one another:

We are looking for a like-minded team member who is:

– passionate about feeding people good food and making them comfortable

Roles and Responsibilities Include:

– overseeing the daily operations of our cafe floor, including guest relations, flow of service, and communication between barista and kitchen teams
– maintaining a tidy, clean cafe that meets all Department of Health standards
– leading a team of friendly, skilled baristas; coordinating cafe hiring, training, employee development, and scheduling
– ordering retail goods such as coffee and paper products, ensuring that inventory and POS systems are correct and up to date
– executing the rollout of new products, special events, and holiday offerings in the cafe

Requirements:

– NYC Food Handler’s License
– understanding of POS systems

Compensation and Benefits:

– hourly position with cafe tips
– family meal daily
– saucy snacks as often as possible!
