Title: Roastery Assistant
Reports to: VP of Coffee, David Amos

Job Purpose:
The Roastery Assistant assists the production team with setting up coffee production, packing, loading and shipping orders, delivering coffee and related products to Saxbys cafes and/or wholesale partners and helps maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the roastery.

Summary of primary duties and responsibilities:
-work with a sense of urgency, and attention to detail
-always maintain a clean and organized workspace and delivery vehicle
-execute daily production with bagging, packing, shipping, and organization
-clean and maintain the roasting machines as assigned
-batch and keep organized daily green and roasted buckets as directed by the roasting team
-unload green coffee orders
-weigh out green coffee for roasting production as directed by the roasting team
-keep roasters and roasting area clean following cleaning schedules and/or as needed
-understand the ins and out of the entire Saxbys production process
-update computer and software systems for quality control and inventory
-load roasted orders into vehicle for delivery
-deliver to local cafes on regular routes in a friendly and hospitable manner
-complete ad-hoc deliveries as needed
-communicate any issues regarding deliveries in a timely manner to the VP of Coffee

-Forklift driving experience a plus but not required – training and certification will be provided
-Great problem solving skills
-Excellent communication and listening skills in a team setting
-Ability to remain productive and on task while working alone
-Must be punctual and reliable
-Ability to focus on tasks in a busy, loud environment
-Must be able to work near green coffee and in a warehouse environment
-Careful attention to detail is necessary around coffee roasters and other equipment
-Work environment can be dusty and have a high noise level
-Ability to perform physical tasks – lift 75lb above waist
-Valid driver’s license required (commercial license is not required)
-Vlean 2 year driving record required
-Physical requirements:
-Able to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods of time
-Able to stoop and kneel
-Pull, push, lift (above waist), or carry up to 75lbs
-Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, ramps
