Full-Time ROASTERY ASSOCIATE
Job Description
Shared Roasting is hiring a full-time ROASTERY ASSOCIATE, a hospitality-focused professional, responsible for ensuring that every client has a seamless production day at Shared. Ideal candidates have the desire to take on an expanded role in the future after successfully completing daily tasks and projects in a high-quality manner on a consistent basis.
Daily Responsibilities:
Assist clients in their coffee roasting and production operations in a professional, efficient and friendly manner
Manage, troubleshoot and maintain roasting and production equipment
Manage in-bound and out-bound logistics safely and efficiently
Stage and prep roasting and production spaces for clients
Maintain inventory for coffee and packing supplies
Maintain a clean roastery throughout the day: production floor, tables, supplies/wares, manage garbage
Assist with client customer service
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with educational and coffee training sessions for clients
Assist with sample roasting and coffee evaluation
Assist with production roasting
Occasionally assist packing specialists with production work
Work with Coffee Director on coffee-related tasks and projects
Additional Future Opportunities:
Leading client coffee education and training
Participation in client and internal business-strategy meetings
Source, develop and profile roast single origins and blends
Required Qualifications:
Lift up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
Multi-task across a range of roastery and production-related functions
Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for safety
Ability to identify, report and remedy errors in an efficient manner
Preferred Qualifications:
Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment with many opportunities for career development
Have a no-task-is-too-small mentality
Compensation:
Full-time, salaried employee with base + performance-based biannual bonuses
Base of $50,000 to $60,000 annually
Six-month probationary period

Shared Roasting, based in Brooklyn, provides coffee solutions for cafes, e-commerce businesses and wholesalers including coffee education, business advisory, roastery leasing, and private label coffee services. Our mission is to support small coffee businesses in reaching their unique goals. Founded in November 2019, Shared currently supports over 65 unique coffee businesses across 6 states, and our team has educated and advised over 35 businesses on creating and operating their own in-house coffee roasting program.
