Job Description

Devoción is the only farm-fresh coffee company in the world, providing our customers with coffee from origin to roast in as little as 10 days. We are a rapidly growing company looking for a full-time roasting apprentice to assist the Master Roaster in coffee production. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Weighing, labeling and packaging roasted coffee to be shipped to wholesale customers including Devoción Retail stores.

-Receiving and organizing weekly freight shipments of green coffee.

-Keeping inventory of all roasted and green coffee as well as supplies needed for packaging which includes tracking Lot numbers and green dates.

-Performing regular cleaning duties to maintain organization of production room.

-Ability to continually lift more than 50 lbs.

-Sample Roasting and evaluating quality of incoming green coffee.

-Roasting on a 25 kg Probat during off-peak hours and weekends.

-Attending quality control cupping sessions with the Education Department.

-Driver’s license preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate works well with others and provides a positive, efficient working environment with Devoción’s wholesale team. This position has the potential to shift from leading a production team to full-time roasting and requires an immense love for all things coffee.

Compensation is $17-$19 an hour, depending on experience. This position is to start in the first week of August and the right candidate should be able to start shortly after the interview process.
