Full-Time Wholesale Sales Representative

Devoción is revolutionizing specialty coffee by ensuring only the freshest beans are roasted daily. Unlike the industry standard, where green beans sit for over six months before roasting, Devoción roasts coffee just 10 to 30 days after leaving the dry mill at origin. This commitment to freshness and quality ensures that the hard work of our farmers is fully translated into the final cup.

We are seeking a sales-driven relationship builder to join our Sales team and support our mission of sharing the freshest, highest-quality coffee with our clients.

Wholesale Sales Representative/Specialty Coffee Expert

The ideal candidate will have coffee sales experience, deep coffee knowledge, and attract, manage, and grow our wholesale partner accounts through building collaborative relationships, product knowledge and communication along with the Service and Education teams.

Key Responsibilities
● Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Devoción core values, coffee products, coffee equipment, and pricing structure;
● Communicate company mission and effectively speak to coffee products and equipment including differences in processing, roast profiles, origins, etc.;
● Execute promotional and incentive programs to support sales growth, in coherence with the marketing strategy;
● Maintain and expand wholesale client base by building and maintaining rapport with current clients and actively identifying new customer opportunities.
● Make initial sales outreach efforts to focus on food service accounts, restaurants, hotels, cafes, and offices.
● Conduct coffee tastings and sales presentations for prospective clients;
● Manage client accounts including order coordination and troubleshooting, client visits, technician service visit oversight, and distribution of marketing materials;
● Assist with the coordination of Service and Education requests from current and new clients.
● Maintain up to date, organized client files and account records on a daily basis, including CRM maintenance.

Overall approach
● This position requires excellent communication and relationship building skills.
● This position will require regular daily and weekly travel around NYC to visit current clients and potential leads.

Requirements and qualifications
● 3+ years of specialty coffee experience. Must be passionate about coffee
● Must be a self-starter committed to excellence and high standards and an ability to manage relationships
● Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
● Ability to organize and present information to customers
● Strong computer and administrative skills required
● Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and take initiative to complete tasks
● Ideal candidate is a competitive, achievement-oriented extrovert with strong skills in negotiation and networking.

Sustainability & Environmental Responsibilities
●. Report any process that may pose environmental risks related to water, energy, waste disposal, or chemical handling
●. Properly sort waste and contribute to sustainability efforts
●. Suggest ideas to improve sustainability through Devoción’s internal channels
●. Actively participate in company training and compliance initiatives

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ($55,000- $60,000) + commission (based on experience)
