Black Fox Coffee (70 Pine Street) is located in the heart of the financial district. As one of NYC’s leading specialty coffee providers, Black Fox is a progressive organization seeking like-minded baristas and hospitality professionals to join our growing team.

Black Fox’s multi-roaster approach provides an unrivaled variety and constantly rotating selection of some of the best coffees from roasters across the United States and the world.

As such, Black Fox is looking to expand its senior coffee team at our Flagship location to fill the role of Coffee 2IC (second in charge). Note – this is a very high volume environment and experience in similar work environments is mandatory. Weekend availability is also necessary.

You will work closely with our Head Barista and Director of Coffee to:

• QC – including cupping, dialing in in collaboration with Head Barista or solo, latte art and ensuring standards are maintained across all things coffee!
• Ordering – place coffee and other supplier orders weekly and on an ad hoc basis
• General Cafe – assisting FOH with service, clearing tables and general cafe duties
• Staff Management – manage barista team alongside Head Barista, GM’s and
• Director of Coffee to ensure smooth flow and service, process and systems are being adhered to
• Service – maintain high levels of service and an enjoyable and inclusive environment for both customers and coworkers

Skills required:

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Barista in speciality coffee (senior positions preferred)
• Experience leading and managing a team
• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to dial in espresso and filter
• Confident communication skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions
• Passion for providing an exceptional hospitality experience
• Detail oriented and reliable
• NYC Food Handlers Card (or willing to obtain one after hire)
• Must be available to work 35-40 hours a week M-S, with open availability.
