Full-Time Senior Store Leader
Job Description
Devocion is looking for a SENIOR STORE LEADER for immediate hire.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a popular and growing specialty coffee company, and to be a part of launching our new location in midtown!
Leaders must have robust experience in specialty coffee shops, be hospitality oriented, and have developed leadership skills.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
● Guarantee the coffee shop is operated with the highest level of hospitality and cleanliness standards.
● Provide quality food and beverages to all customers, ensure strict adherence to all drink recipe and presentation standards.
● Act with integrity and knowledge to promote Devocion’s culture, values, mission and code of ethics.
● Responsible for the cleanliness, appearance and environment of the store, including air quality/temperature, music, and maintenance of the kitchen, seating area, bathrooms, and outdoor space (this includes sidewalks directly in front of the coffee shop).
● Guarantee that our customer service is running in a friendly, relaxing demeanor, with courteousness and quick service.
● Ensure that all staff are performing as efficiently and effectively as possible.
● Oversee and assist with all food production, and maintain quality, FIFO and DOH procedures.
● Train, cultivate and oversee new staff. Provide continuous coaching to existing team members.
● This is hands on!…work with the team to perform a variety of tasks, from preparing drinks, restocking supplies and helping customers, to handling the register, checking in/putting away deliveries, inventory management, cleaning various areas of the shop. Fill in where needed.
● Work closely with Retail Manager and Director of Operations.
REQUIREMENTS
● Must have at least 4 years of specialty coffee experience, running shops, and training employees
● Natural leadership skills, kindness, and strong work ethic
● Leading and developing people with consistent and clear communication and follow-up
● Ability to work full time including mornings, nights (we close at 6pm), weekends, and overtime as needed
● Strong multi-tasking skills, problem solve efficiently, ability to adapt quickly to daily challenges, critical thinking
● Excellent communication skills
● NYC Food Handler’s Certification holder
● Ability to frequently lift or carry more than 30lbs and frequently move around the store, reach and bend to assist customers, prepare orders, and operate store equipment for extended periods of time
DETAILS
Full time, 40 hours/week
Paid time off
Pay rate: $20/hour
We guarantee this position will earn at least $28/hour inclusive of tips.
