Job Description

New Coffee Establishment to Open in A Week. Midtown Manhattan.

Head Barista / Service Manager

Duties:

  • Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
  • Prepare and serve espresso, espresso drinks, brewed coffee, cold brew, honey flower tea and blended drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
  • Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
  • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee and tea supplies; stocking coffee equipment and food display cases; maintaining other supplies, such as milk, cream, sugar, ice, honey, syrups for coffee bar.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Enhances Tianti Coffee Service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Lead the barista team.
  • Assist Food Manager / French Pastry Chef for food preparation and sales.

Barista Skills and Qualifications:

Listening, Verbal Communication, Customer Focus, Customer Service, Basic Safety, People Skills, Action Oriented, Organization, Selling to Customer Needs, Attendance, Client Relationships, 2-year Specialty Coffee Service Experiences. Experience in operating La Marzocco GB5 a plus. NY food handler license a plus. Latte art skills. Flexible schedule, holidays and Saturday availability a huge plus.

No visible tattoo. Limited piercing. Ability to lift 40+ pounds, Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel and Word.
