About the Role
Milk & Pull is looking for a dependable, organized, and people focused Shift Lead to help oversee daily operations at our Ridgewood location. This role is perfect for someone with leadership experience who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys coaching others, and takes pride in creating exceptional customer experiences.

As a Shift Lead, you’ll be responsible for supporting the team, ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining store standards, and stepping in to solve problems as they arise. You’ll serve as a leader on the floor and help create a positive, efficient, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

Responsibilities

Lead and support the team during shifts
Delegate tasks and ensure daily responsibilities are completed
Provide coaching, training, and support to baristas and team members
Maintain high standards of customer service and hospitality
Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally
Monitor workflow and make adjustments to ensure smooth operations
Open and/or close the café following company procedures
Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards are consistently met
Complete shift reports and communicate important updates to management
Manage inventory levels and communicate ordering needs
Maintain product quality and consistency
Assist with scheduling needs and coverage when necessary
Hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive work culture
Support hiring, onboarding, and training efforts as needed
Qualifications
At least 1 year of management or supervisory experience in a café, restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment required
Strong leadership and team development skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and accountable
Comfortable giving direction, coaching team members, and holding staff accountable
Food Handler’s Certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification immediately upon hire
Knowledge of specialty coffee and café operations is a plus
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including at least one weekend day
