The Smile is growing and we are looking for the right person to join our team. 

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented coffee professional to oversee the coffee program at our four locations – The Smile, Smile To Go, The Smile at Milk Studios, and The Smile Newsstand (opening July).

Candidate should be independent and a self-starter, but most importantly passionate about coffee and eager to share knowledge with staff and customers to create a dynamic and forward focused coffee program.  Ideal person will have experience working in high volume cafes and understand how to stay quality focused, streamline operations and always ensure great customer service.

Responsibilities include developing/maintaining internal quality standards for all aspects of the brewed coffee/espresso program.  Candidate will also be responsible for:

–       Developing protocols to ensure consistency across locations for espresso extraction methods and drink preparation by barista staff

–       Evaluating and monitoring quality and consistency of brewed coffee across locations (must be familiar with Fetco brewers).

–       Implementing strict machine cleaning and preventative maintenance routines and schedules for all espresso machines, brewers, coffee and espresso grinders and water filtration (daily, weekly, monthly).

–       Developing internal training programs for new and existing baristas.

–       Interviewing/hiring barista staff as needed.

–       Interfacing with vendors to streamline ordering.

Candidate should be well versed with the following equipment:

            La Marzocco and Synesso espresso machines

            Mazzer espresso grinders

            Fetco Coffee Brewers
