Job Description

Dean & DeLuca has an opening at our New York Times location for a Supervisor.  The Supervisor is responsible for assisting the General Manager with managing the day-to-day operations of the store.  This includes opening and closing the store, ensuring that sales, profitability, and customer service targets are met, ensuring that the most suitable products and services are available to the customer, and following Company policies and procedures.

The Supervisor functions as the acting Manager when the General Manager is off duty.

Successful candidates will have prior supervisory experience in the food/restaurant industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership to line level staff
• Assists management in running shifts
• Places orders using specific software
• Promotes open communication and assists staff with conflict resolution
• Reconciles cashier drawers and retrieves sales reports
• Tracks invoices and records waste
• Responds to customer inquiries and concerns
• Ensures that appropriate products are available and effectively merchandised
• Ensures that standards for quality, customer service, health, and safety are met
• Prepares and submits reports as requested
• Maintains the highest level of honesty, integrity, ethical and moral conduct at all times
• Conscientiously strives to meet or exceed budgetary goals, understands how to achieve sales increases while maintaining expense controls
• Enforces company policies consistently with all associates while providing leadership and maintaining management integrity.
• Other duties as needed to meet business needs

Requirements

• 1 year supervisory level experience
• Previous food/restaurant experience
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Must be willing and able to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Basic computer skills
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have full availability, working nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Barista experience helpful.
• Merchandising experience ideal.

This is a full time, benefit eligible position.
