Joe Coffee Company was founded in 2003 in Manhattan’s West Village with the vision of brewing the highest quality coffees and serving them with unsurpassed hospitality and knowledge. We strive to build, maintain and strengthen communities at every level from producer to customer.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated sales person to help leverage the Joe Coffee brand to grow the wholesale operation. The Wholesale Sales Representative’s role is to be the primary source of new wholesale business for the company. They will be responsible for developing new leads responding quickly to expressed interest, and ultimately signing new, appropriate customers. They must also possess the ability to connect with a diverse spectrum of customers from restaurant groups/hotel management to small neighborhood businesses.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for departmental growth by signing new wholesale customers
- Work with company leadership to identify sales strategy for a target market
- Meet quarterly and annual sales goals set by the Wholesale Manager
- Coach new wholesale partners to effectively and appropriately use available resources
- Work with wholesale and production teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new customers
- Maintain good rapport with existing customers
- Provide weekly accounting of leads and opportunities to management
- Maintain open lines of communication while working remotely
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner, consistent with Joe Coffee Company’s values and act an overall ambassador of the Joe brand in the community
Qualifications
The Wholesales Sales Executive will demonstrate a well-rounded understanding of the specialty coffee market in the New York region and its place within the wider food and beverage industry.
- Must have prior demonstrated sales experience
- Knowledge of the food and beverage industry. Familiarity with specialty coffee and equipment is a bonus but not required
- Knowledge of distribution channels
- Must be able to work independently and cooperatively on a team
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Follow-through for results and success
- Self-motivated, initiative and accountability
- Possess decisive problem-solving skills
- Highly organized
- Organized time management
Compensation
The Sales Executive is a full-time position and is eligible for the comprehensive Joe Coffee Company benefits package which includes vacation, holiday, medical, dental coverage. Full-time salary based on experience. Additionally based on appropriate quarterly sales targets.
